Icom 7300 Portable at Table Rock Lake

Good day Ham friends, shortwave listeners and shut-in’s. I love using my Icom 7300 portable. On my way to Alabama I got to operate at Table Rock Lake in Missouri. It is a park listed in Parks On The Air (POTA). This was a beautiful location and the campground at the lake was very nice.

My main rig in the camper is my Icom 7300. The main microphone I use is an Icom SM-50 desk mic. I have a Yamaha CM500 headset to use when I need it. For CW I am using a CT 599 Iambic paddle.

The antenna I was using at the time is a mobile Hi-Q antenna mounted on the back of the camper. It is high enough to place the coil above the roof.

The power source when not connected to shore power is a battery bank consisting of two 100AH sealed lead acid batteries. To charge these I am using two 100 watt solar panels mounted on the roof and another 100 watt portable solar panel I can move around during the day to follow the sun.

Table Rock State Park Campground #1

What a beautiful campground and a lot of the sites are on the edge of the lake. Not real close, but within easy walking distance. I found the rates to be very reasonable. For my 30 amp site it was only $46 for 2 nights.
